ABOUT ME
I received my BA from the University of California, Berkeley in Film and Media Studies where I discovered my passion for audiovisual archiving through an internship at the Pacific Film Archive. Naturally I was led to UCLA’s Moving Image Archive Studies program where I received my Master of Arts in Moving Image Archiving.
Although I am eager about all aspects of audiovisual archiving and preservation, my current research interests lie in the ethics of digital restoration/preservation practices, bringing greater awareness to the preservation and access of audiovisual works created by racially marginalized communities, and examining the problematic relationship between moving image pornography and archives.
I have worked and interned at various non-profit and commercial institutions throughout the years such as The Pacific Film Archive, USC Hugh M. Hefner Moving Image Archive, UCLA Film & Television Archive, el Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken, the Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the Academy Film Archive and Señal 3 La Victoria. I am currently a Collections Archivist for the UCLA Film & Television Archive.
